On August 26th Lisa Woynarski and Lauren Louise Murphy hosted a Feminism and Comics salon style discussion at Gosh! Comics. The event was completely packed out and a huge success! Due to popular demand a second event will be hosted this Tuesday. Check out the details here, there may be a few spots left on the waiting list left. This part of the Let’s Talk Intersectionality reading & discussion group. They run regular events across London. Join the Facebook group here to hear about future Feminism & Comics events as there are talks about hosting them regularly.
Above is a pic of the event taken by Lauren Louise Murphy. As you can see it was a full house.
The success of this event has given a lot of people hope that publishers will start focusing on books that address issues of intersectional feminism.
I designed the poster for the event and also created a print (below) using the same image. The print will be for sale at the event and on my web-shop. 100% of the sales from it will go directly towards the Feminist Library. It is a great organisation and they are in desperate needs for more funding to help them find a new home. If you want to help out you can order a print online or donate directly to the library.
