Blue Bottle Mystery: The Graphic Novel

Blue Bottle Mystery is a book I have been working on for the past year in my role as art editor at Jessica Kingsley Publishers. The story is about a young boy named Ben and his best friend Andy who find a magic blue bottle that leads them on an exciting adventure. During the course of the story Ben also finds out that he has Asperger Syndrome, making this book an wonderful introduction to Aspergers for young readers.

Blue Bottle Mystery was original published as a prose novel written by Kathy Hoopmann in 2001 and sold immensely well over the years. Wanting to repackage the book and make it accessible to a new audience we decided to adapt it into a long form comic. Working closely with Hoopmann I adapted the book in a comic script which the super talented Rachael Smith then illustrated.

The final book is printed hardback and came out beautifully. It will be on sale from next week and you can order it online here.

    I just ordered this book. Excited to read it with my 11 year old son who has autism. He will love the art!
